Thanks to those who helped with dining-out event

A big thank you from Eastside Meals on Wheels Program to the owners and staff at Anchor Fish and Chips, The Red Stag, Moose on Monroe, The Bulldog NE, Kramarczuk’s Deli, Hazel’s Restaurant and Emily’s Deli for their participation in our very first "Mission Nutrition Dining Edition" held Sept. 19. The "dining out" event would not have been successful without the tremendous cooperation and promotional help from all the restaurants. The generous owners of each restaurant donated a percentage of their earnings for the day to the Eastside Meals on Wheels Program.

Also, a special thanks to all of our committed volunteers and other friends in the community who showed passionate support for our program by dining out and telling the restaurant owners how much they appreciated their generous commitment to the Eastside Meals on Wheels program. This is another example of how the community joins together to help their neighbors. With thanks to everyone, our program will continue to provide meals to isolated and homebound neighbors in Northeast and Southeast Minneapolis and St. Anthony Village who are unable to prepare meals for themselves. Our vital meal delivery service for our homebound neighbors will remain effective because of responsive neighbors in the community and the generous support of the restaurants who opened their doors and welcomed our effort to help sustain our mission.

If you would like to volunteer or donate to your local Meals on Wheels program please call 612-277-2529.
